Rs 653 crore Road network projects at Mewat
Chandigarh, Aug 4 (UNI) Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister, Capt Ajay Singh Yadav said that the Government has taken up the development of network of roads in Mewat region at a cost of more than Rs 653 crore.
He said the work to improve Gurgaon-Alwar road and Hodal-Nuh-Pataudi-Patauda road would commence shortly.
He said that these roads cut across Mewat region has North-South and East-West corridor. The work to four lane and widen Gurgoan-Nuh-Ferozpur Zhirka-Rajasthan border road has been taken up at an estimated expenditure of Rs 338 crore and allotted to PNC Infratech Ltd.
Similarly, widening and strengthening of Hodal-Nuh-Patauda-Pataudi road, costing Rs 240 crore, has been allotted to Centrodorstroy (India) Pvt. Ltd.
Capt Ajay Singh Yadav said that five road works of Mewat region involving length of 70 km and costing Rs 36 crore have been approved under the State plan.
These included Solpur Kole gaon Doha upto G.A. road, Palwal-Hathin-Uttawar road, Pinagawa to Sikrawa road, Nuh-Palwal and Chandhat-Gurwari-Pehladpur road.
He said that special repair work of 45 rural roads estimated to cost Rs six crore has been allotted to a contractual agency and the work was in progress.
Improvement of three roads Bori-Koti-Punhana, Sikrawa-Bhadas and Hodal-Punhana-Nagina road has been approved under a scheme of the National Capital Region and work to prepare detailed project report has been allotted to consultant namely WAPCOS.
The Minister said that four village roads of Mewat region have been included in Bharat Nirman Scheme for upgradation under Phase-8 of the scheme.
These roads included Nuh to Mohammadpur-Kota-Ghagaas to Bhadas, Hassanpur Kota Khandevla-Rampur road, Punhana to Jurhera road and Taoru to Bhogipur road.
He said that a number of projects of improvement of roads were in progress and these included Old Gurgaon road passing through Nuh town road costing Rs 1.32 crore, Tirwara-Nai-Hathin Gaon to Rajasthan border road costing Rs 7.58 crore, Ferozepur Zhirka-Biwan road at a cost of Rs 11.57 crore and Hathin-Khilluka Kot-Paosar-Alimeo to Indana Ki Kothi road at an estimated expenditure of over Rs 12 crore.
He said that the concerned officers have been directed to complete these works within the scheduled time and he would himself review the progress of these works in next three months.
