Patiala sets target of 418 runs for Jalandhar

Patiala, Aug 4 (UNI) Himanshu Chawla scored a hurricane century (154) for Patiala against Jalandhar in the Punjab Inter-District Cricket (Under-19) for Dhruv Pandove Trophy here today at the Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium.

Patiala piled up 418 for 9 in the allotted 95 overs. The other main scorers were Preetkamal (59), Kunwar Raina (49) and Vikramdit Singh (40). The fourth wicket partnership between Himanshu Chawla and Preetkamal produced 218 runs.

For Jalandhar, Pargat Singh captured 3 wickets, conceding 91 runs and Rahul Singh took 2 for 81.

Jalandhar will have to bat really well tomorrow to overtake Patiala's huge total which seems to be a daunting task.
