One killed, two injured in balcony collapse

Mumbai, Aug 4 (UNI) A student was killed and two others were injured when a portion of a private school's balcony collapsed at Malvani in Malad, in the western suburbs here today.

Disaster cell of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said here that during the recess, students were standing in the balcony of the school, when suddenly a portion caved in, resulting in death of a student and injuries to two other students.

The deceased was indentified as Ravindra Jhantiye (16), who died on the spot.

The two injured, Akshay Kadam (14) and Vikas Kale (14), were were admitted to the civic-run Bhagwati Hospital, sources added.
