Ms Beth A Payne succeeds Henry V Jardine as U S Consul General

Kolkata, Aug 4(UNI) Ms Beth A. Payne took over as U S Consul General in Kolkata on August one, succeeding Mr.Henry V Jardine, who recently left the city on new assignmenton.

A Foreign Service Officer, Ms Payne was previously posted to U S Embassies in Senegal, Rwanda, Israel and Kuwait.

In 2003, she opened the office of the U S Consul in Baghdad, Iraq.

She also served in the office of Children's Issues in the Department of State in Washington, D.C, an official release issued here today said.
