Grameen Dak Sewaks'wards to get preferential admission in KVs
New Delhi, Aug 4 (UNI) Children of 3.5 lakh Grameen Dak Sewaks would get the same preferential admission in Kendriya Vidyalayas (Central Schools) as is availble to the wards of Central government and defence employees.
Communications and Information Technology Ministry today said the decision would be implemented from next academic year. It was conveyed to Mr Jyotiraditya Scindia, who is incharge of the Ministry, by Human Resource Ministry which controls the Central schools.
Mr Scindia said the facility was aimed at improving the service conditions of Grameen Dak Sewaks.
The Communications and IT Ministry has also decided not to transfer the Sewaks unless and untill they requested. All cases of appointments on compassionate grounds would be expeditiously processed and applicants would be informed of decision within 60 days.
The ministry has assured of regular supply of stationery to offices manned by the Sewaks whose own stationery allowance increased from Rs 10 to Rs 50, an official release said.
