Counterfeit currency seized, 4 nabbed
Lucknow, Aug 4 (UNI) Four persons were arrested and seized counterfeit currency worth Rs 33,000 was seized from them in Rae Bareli and Kannauj districts.
According to the information from state police headquarters, the Special Operation Group (SOG) of UP police arrested three persons red-handed with over Rs 18,000 fake currency.
Besides more than Rs 14,000 were recovered from the possession of a criminal in Indgarh area in Kannauj district.
The seizure comprised Rs 100, Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denomination notes.
On interrogation, the arrested revealed that they used to smuggle the fake currency in Lucknow, Kanpur and some other districts.
Meanwhile, police have spread a dragnet to nail down their other aides.
