BHEL Apprenticeship Association observe fast

Tiruchirapalli, Aug 4 (UNI) Members of the BHEL Apprenticeship Association of the Public Sector Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) along with their family members observed a day's fast in front of the BHEL Training Centre here today, demanding regularisation of services.

The agitators said they had been working as apprentices for the last 20 years and despite their repeated plea, the management did not consider them for Grade-4 recruitment.

The Association moved the Madras High Court Bench at Madurai.

The Court has directed the management to accord priority to the apprentice employees in the recruitment. But inspite of the Court's direction, the Management did not consider their plea, they alleged.
