Bharat Jagruti Morcha opposes Asaram Bapu's defamation
Mumbai, Aug 4 (UNI) Maharashtra Unit of the ''Bharat Jagruti Morcha'' today said ''anti-Hindu'' organisations are to be blamed for portraying Asaram Bapu in a negative light and maligning his image.
In a protest rally organised at Azad Maidan here, several Hindu organisations like the VHP and Bajrang Dal joined hands to protest against the negative portrayal of the godman in the media.
Bharat Jagruti Morcha president Dinesh Patil said the death of the children studying in Asaram Bapu's ashrams should be thoroughly probed. ''People of the ashrams are mourning the deaths, but some vested interests in the media are blaming Bapu for it,'' he said.
Mr Patil said ''Anti-Hindu groups are behind these accusations, which are being made to malign the image of various godmen in the country, who are working for the betterment of the Hindus and society in general.'' BJP MLA Raj Purohit, former Party MLA Atul Shah also participated in the rally.
