Bangalore: 7 killed, 3 hurt as tanker hits jeep
Bangalore, Aug 4: Seven people were killed and three injured when the jeep, in which they were travelling, collided head on with a tanker near Manki Village in Honnavar Taluk of Uttara Kannada District, about 400 kms from here.
Police said the accident occurred yesterday when the jeep driver tried to overtake a bus.
While five were killed on the spot, two others died in hospital. The injured were admitted to the Murudeshwara Hospital.
The travellers of the ill-fated jeep belonged to Ilkal in Bagalkot District. They were returning from Dharmasthala and proceeding towards Karwar as part of their tour, police added.
