Uttar Pradesh: 65 polio victims in Kaushambi

Kaushambi, Aug 4: The efficacy and penetration of the polio vaccination drive is coming under cloud with three new cases being reported in the last 24 hours here.

So far, 65 polio cases have been reported.

The government undertakns a massive vaccination drive and spends crores of rupees to curb the disease every year.

About 65 polio cases have been reported for the last six months and the health department keeping a close watch that whether the vaccination drive being implemented properly or not, health department sources said.

In the last 24 hours, three fresh cases were reported from Kokar village namely Sanjana (2), Suraj (3) and Chotu (7).

The trio were reportedly taking polio drops regularly.

CMO H R Azami told that four health department employees ahve been suspended for dereliction of duty.
