TN: 1 killed, 5 injured as car rams into bus
Kancheepuram, Aug 4: One person was killed and five others seriously injured when their car hit a state transport corporation bus at Chinnakolambakkam Village on the Chennai-Tiruchirapalli National Highway.
Police said five people of a family were travelling to Chennai from Neyveli last evening for purchases when the car driver rammed into the bus that stopped by the side of the road for passengers to get down.
In the impact, K Sakuntala (65) lost her life while her son K V Rao (44), daughter-in-law Usha (43) and grandchildren Gayathri (18) and Tharani (13) were seriously injured, along with car driver Murugan (38).
They were admitted to the Government hospital at Chengalpet and later shifted to a private hospital in Chennai.
