Syed Ahmed Bukhari annouces Shabanul-Muazzam

New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) The Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid Syed Ahmed Bukhari said the first of Shabanul-Muazzam and the 14th Shabanul-Muazzam (Shab-e-barat) will fall on August 4 and 17 respectively.

Imam Bukhari, president of the Markazi Royat-e-Hilal committee Jama Masjid, said in a statement issued here yesterday that there was no sign of moon of Shabanul-Muazzam upto August 2 which is the 29th day of Rajabul-Murajjab, therefore August 4 will be considered as the 1st of Shabanul-Muazzam.

There is no evidence of moon's visibility from any direction as yet, therefore the dates were being announced accordingly, he added.
