Indo-US troops Jt exercise begins in Mizoram tomorrow

Silchar, Aug 3 (UNI) Indian and US forces will kick-start a 20-day 'Vajra Prahar' exercise at the army's elite Counter-Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School (CIJWS) at Vairengte in Mizoram from tomorrow.

The exercise, first of its kind between the Indo-US forces, would start early tomorrow and continue till August 23 in the CIJWS, about 60 km from here.

Colonel R M Negi of the CIJWS today said 22 US troops would take part in the exercise. The US troops have been staying here for the past two weeks and the actual exercise would start from tomorrow.

This would be the first such exercise of Indo-US forces this year, Col Negi added.
