Illegal substance worth Rs 50 lakh seized, 4 held

Lucknow, Aug 3 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh police today arrested four smugglers and seized psychotropic substance, estimated at Rs 50 lakh in the international market, from across the state.

Two smugglers of Bihar were apprehended in Duddhi area in Sonebhadra district. The cops seized 105 kg ganja from the possession of the outlaws, who were on way to smuggle the drug in Chhattisgarh,polie said.

Three policemen have, meanwhile,been suspended for laxity in this regard.

The other arrest was made from Kotwali area in Mirzapur, where two smugglers were caught red-handed with 250 gm heroin and 10 kg ganja.
