Dacoits take away Rs 70 lakh from security agency
Mysore, Aug 3 (UNI) A seven-member gang today decamped with Rs 70 lakh from a security agency in the industrial area near Metagalli on the outskirts of the city.
Police said the gang attacked the security guard and the supervisor on duty with iron rods and sharp weapons. They gained entry through the main door and opened the strong room.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Shivalingiah, who visited the spot, told newspersons that the money belonged to a public sector bank, which had kept it with the security agency to be deposited in its ATM centres.
Today being a holiday, the amount was drawn yesterday and kept at the security agency's safe.
Police have spread a dragnet to nab the culprits, he added.
