Ashram boy had been killed, accused boy arrested
Chhindwara, MP, Aug 3 (UNI) A 14-year-old boy, who is a class IX student at the Sant Asaram Gurukul Ashram, was today arrested in connection with the murder of two children in the Gurukul premises here, police said.
Inspector General of Police (Jabalpur range) M R Krishna told reporters here that Rituraj Singh Dikhit did not want to stay in the ashram. When he learnt that ashram in Ahmedabad closed after the death of two children, he hatched a plan to kill children. Rituraj killed Ramkrishna Yadav (4) on July 29 and Vedant Manmode (5) on July 31. He took the two children to bathroom by luring them about chocolate. Vedant had offered stiff resistance at which Rituraj had bitten him on shoulders. This provided most important clue for police.
Rituraj had tried to kill another boy on July 31 before Vedant but he escaped as two other children came at the spot.
Mr Krishna said Rituraj had been admitted to the school two months back so that two other children of his family studying in class II and class V could be taken care of. However, he did not like the ashram and its strict discipline. He was also mocked by his friends due to his special physique.
The needle of suspicion was pointed to Rituraj when he informed about the death of children in bathroom in view of the fact that bathroom for students of up to class VIII was located at ground floor and for others at first floor.
Post-mortem had revealed that the two children died due to suffocation.
