4 people nabbed for selling fake mixies
Chennai, Aug 3 (UNI) The city police today busted a racket of selling fake mixies and grinders bearing the name of a popular brand and arrested four people hailing from Uttar Pradesh.
Police sources said the racket came to light, when a newly bought mixie conked off, when switched on for the first time.
The person, who purchased the mixie from Nungambakkam area in the city immediately managed to spot the sellers -- Sadiq and Sultan and handed them over to police.
The interrogation of the duo led to the arrest of two others, Md Nowshad and Rasheed.
All of them were remanded in judicial custody.
Fake mixers and grinders worth Rs three lakh were seized from the gang, which was involved in door-to-door sale.
