362 applicants attend 'Passport Adalat'
Tiruchirapalli, Aug 3 (UNI) As many as 362 applicants participated in the 'Passport Adalat,' held here yesterday, according to Regional Passport Officer S Balachandran.
In a release here, he said on all eligible applications, passports would be despatched within a week. Others were advised to rectify the problems in their applications.
This was the sixth Passport Adalat conducted since March, 2008, on the first Saturday of every month.
Despite the festival 'Aadi Perukku,' the huge turnout testified the the adalat's effectiveness as a grievances redressal mechanism, Mr Balachandran added.
