Wockhardt Hospitals gets JCI accreditation
Bangalore, Aug 2: The Wockhardt Hospital in the city has become the first super specialty hospital in Karnataka to achieve the accreditation from Joint Commission International (JCI) of the US.
JCI is the gold standard in global health care quality standards and the global leader in health care accreditation having accredited 140 hospitals in 27 countries.
Wockhardt CEO Vishal Bali presented the certificate to Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa at a function at his home office 'Krishna' here last night.
Dr Bali said that "The JCI accreditation of our Bangalore Hospital is a major milestone in our quest for excellence in patient care." In keeping with its goal to ensure that treatment protocols were standardized, Wockhardt had undertook several initiatives to create medical staff bye-laws to monitor skill sets and training of medical personnel, care pathways for surgeries, clinical guidelines and protocols for care in the ICU and emergency areas, he added.
Mr Yeddyurappa said quality was fundamental in health care to save lives of people, by perusing this path and achieving this international accreditation Wockhardt Hospitals had demonstrated that our hospitals in Karnataka were setting new standards and match the best in the world.
