Special drive to clear backlog in police in reserved category:Nitish
Patna, Aug 2 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today ordered to launch a special drive to clear the backlog of vacancies in police department against the posts under reserved category.
Mr Kumar issued the directive in a high-level meeting convened here in this regard and ordered the officers concerned to ensure advertisements relating to recruitment against the reserved posts in police appear in newspapers within a week.
While speaking to newspersons here, ADG (Law and Order) Anil Sinha said the Chief Minister also instructed for intensive training programmes of the police personnel at various destinations till a police academy was formally established at Rajgir.
Sanction for raising a separate women battalion had also been given by the state government and process of recruitments in this connection was goingon, at an acclerated pace on the directives of the Chief Minister, Mr Sinha added.
'' The recruitment process for Sub Inspectors (SIs) had been almost completed and appointment letters to the selected candidates would be issued soon'', Mr Sinha, said adding requisitions for fresh vacancies from various places in the department had been called for and recruitment against such posts would begin soon.
