Madonna refuses to read tabloids

Washington, Aug 2 : Madonna isn't bothered by the intense speculation that her marriage with husband Guy Ritchie is on a rocky patch - because she refuses to read tabloids.

Rumours about the pop star's nearly eight-year-long marriage being on the rocks escalated dramatically when reports of an alleged romance with American baseball star Alex Rodriguez became public.

The Hung Up hitmaker has since denied the allegations, insisting she and Ritchie remain happily married.

Ritchie's pal, actor Vinnie Jones tells People magazine that the singer isn't affected by the swirling speculation, since she never bothers to read about herself in the news.

"I know for a fact (that) they don't read anything. No one's getting at them. It seems nowadays people can write about what they want and get away with it," the mag quoted Jones as saying.

The actor added that the family "seems very close."
