Low pressure to bring more rains to AP

Hyderabad, Aug 2 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh will receive widespread rainfall as a low pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours.

''A fresh cyclonic circulation lies over Northwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal extending upto mid-tropospheric levels,'' according to Indian Meteorology Department here.

''Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to form over the region during the next 24 hours. Consequently, fairly widespread rainfall with isolated and heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Orissa, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during next two to three days,'' IMD officials told UNI.

Moderate to rather heavy rain or thundershowers are likely at many places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and at a few places over Telangana during the next 24 hours and increase thereafter. Isolated and heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over north Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Rain or thundershowers are likely in Hyderabad.

Rain occurred at many places over Telangana and at a few places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh in the last 24 hours. Isolated rain occurred over Rayalaseema during the period.

Guntur recorded a rainfall of six cm, followed by Gudivada, Piduguralla and Tenali five each and Machilipatnam, Nalgonda, Bhimavaram Devarakonda, Kaikalur, Repalle and Sattenapalli four each.
