Model murdered in mysterious circumstances

Lucknow, Aug 2: Jyoti Pal, a model who had been seen in several ramp shows in Uttar Pradesh and other parts of the country, was strangulated to death at her residence in Gomti nagar locality here on Friday, August 1 police said.

Jyoti (28), recently divorced, was found dead in her bathroom with a thin rope tied to her neck. She was staying in a rented house, in the Viram Khand of the Gomti Nagar area with her brother Shalu.

Shalu had revealed before the police that Jyoti was recently threatened by her estranged husband Nitin.

However Nitin, who also lived nearby was missing after the murder of his ex-wife.

A case had been registerd in this connection and the body sent for postmortem.

Police was also investigating the relationship between a doctor and the deceased as the doctor had certified to the house owner that Jyoti was his wife.
