'US stands with India to bring terrorists to book'
{image-us McC_01082008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Washington, Aug 1: The Bush administration stands with India in seeking to bring to book those responsible for recent terror acts in Gujarat and Karnataka, US State Department spokesman Sean McCormack has said.
''It is condemnable that you have these kinds of acts of terrorism and that innocent lives were lost,'' he said on Thursday, July 31. Mr McCormack, however, said Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice had not been in touch with her Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee on these occasions. ''But certainly, as we do in similar cases, we stand with India in seeking to bring to justice those responsible for these acts of terrorism,'' he added. Mr McCormack also ruled out any change in the United States' policy on Kashmir.
