Three members of bikers gang arrested

New Delhi, Aug 1 (UNI) The Delhi police have arrested three members of the notorious 'Bikers gang' involved in at least five shootings in July.

Zakir, Rakesh and Mushtaq - were arrested from Badarpur in south Delhi, where they had gone to meet the wife of one of their friends yesterday, police said today.

Delhi Police had declared a reward of Rs 50,000 each for anyone providing information about the gang members after they allegedly killed five people in south and east Delhi in July.

On July 5, members of the gang gunned down a property dealer Sonu, outside his Sangam Vihar residence.

Then two weeks ago the gangsters killed two friends - Ashneet Singh, 24, and Harjeet Singh, 26 - at Amar Colony near Lajpat Nagar.

Then, barely a few minutes later they shot dead Sanjeev Suri, 30, near Andrews Ganj crossing, when one of the motorcycles they had stolen ran out of fuel.

The very next day the same gang shot Naresh and Pawan, both in their 30s, in south Delhi's Dakshinpuri area.

The shootings by the bikers gang had led Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to convene a meeting with the Police commissioner expressing concern over the incidents.

During their interrogation, Zakir and Mushtaq confessed their involvement in the various shootings.
