Surjeet was eminent statesman: President

New Delhi, Aug 1 (UNI) President Pratibha Devisingh Patil today condoled the death of CPI(M) leader Harkishan Singh Surjeet, describing him as an eminent statesman and a veteran leader of his party.

His death was a loss for the country, the President said in a message.
