Talacauvery received the highest rainfall of 5.51 inches
Madikeri, Aug 1: The flood situation here continues to remain a matter of concern even as rainfall reduced in the last 24 hours in Kodagu District.
The inclement weather affected traffic at Bhagamandala, Aiyyengeri, Napoklu, Kanur and Nittur as roads came under a sheet of water. Talacauvery received the highest rainfall of 5.51 inches followed by Bhagamandala with 4.59 inches, Rimangala with 4.18 inches and Madikeri and Somwarpet recorded 3.30 inches each.
So far, Madikeri recorded 77.72 inches of rainfall, while it was 108.60 inches last year. Two houses collapsed at Virajpet Taluk yesterday. Roof collapse and partial damage to houses were reported from all over Kodagu.
