Mayawati made mistake by voting against us: Athawale
Nashik, Aug 1 (UNI) Republican Party of India (A) president Ramdas Athawale today said Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Mayawati made a mistake by voting against the UPA Government during the July 22 Trust vote.
''Mayawati made a mistake by voting against us during the Trust vote in Parliament on July 22. The coming together of the Congress and the Samajwadi Party (SP) will weaken her party in Uttar Pradesh,'' Mr Athawale said in a news conference here.
Admitting that Mayawati is one of the strongest Dalit leaders, he said her party will not make any great impact in Maharashtra.
Commenting on Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee's decision to remain in chair during the Trust vote in Parliament recently, Mr Athawale said his party wanted Mr Chatterjee to complete the tenure as the Speaker.
