Low pressure likely to bring more rains to AP

Hyderabad, Aug 1 (UNI) Predicting formation of a low pressure area over West Central and adjoining North West Bay of Bengal by August three, the weatherman here said more rains were likely over Andhra Pradesh where the South West Monsoon had revived.

According to Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) officials, interpretation of numerical weather prediction models indicated formation of a low pressure area, which was likely to move northwestwards and bring fairly widespread rainfalls to Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra with isolated and heavy to very heavy rainfalls from August three to five.

Isolated rain or thundershowers were likely over Andhra Pradesh till tomorrow and increase thereafter.

Moderate to rather heavy rain or thundershowers were likely at many places over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and light to moderate rain or thundershowers at a few places over South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Rayalaseema in the next 48 hours.

Hyderabad would have generally cloudy sky even as rain or thundershowers were likely in parts of city.

Rain occurred at a few places over Telangana in the last 24 hours. Isolated rain occurred over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.

Koida recorded a rainfall of six cm, followed by Kunavaram five, and Eturnagaram, Perur, Polavaram and Prathipadu four each.
