LAHDC Kargil election schedule issued
Srinagar, Aug 1: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has notified the schedule for holding the second General election for Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission has extended the date for issuance of Electors Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) from July 28 to August 9, 2008 in the state.
According to a notification, the date for making nomination is August 4 and the last date for nomination is August 11. The scrutiny would take place on August 12 and last date for the withdrawal of nomination papers is August 14.
Polling would be held on August 30. The date for counting is September 5 while the process of election will be completed on September 10, 2008.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil has been appointed as Election Officer of the general elections under the said notification.
According to the Chief Electoral officer B R Sharma, all the electors of the state have been informed to approach the concerned booth-level officers appointed by the District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner).
In case of any complaint or problem the electors can contact Electoral Registration Officer , Joint Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Secretary, Srinagar Municipal Corporation / Joint Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officer , Chief Khilafwarzi Officer, Assistant Secretary (P) and Chief Revenue Officer of Srinagar Municipal Corporation and Secretary, Jammu Municipal Corporation).
