Hyundai sales for July up by 28 pc
Mumbai, Aug 1 (UNI) Korean car manufacturer Hyundai's Indian subsidiary - Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has achieved cumulative sales of 36,152 cars for the month of July, up by 28.2 percent, as against cumulative sales of 28,204 cars for the corresponding period last year.
Domestic sales stood at 15,066 units, up by 0.4 percent, while exports impressed with sales of 21,086 units, up by 59.7 percent, a release said today.
''It has been a challenging month for the entire industry with the combined effects of increase in interest rates, hike in fuel prices and inflationary pressures affecting market sentiments,'' HMIL Senior Vice President Marketing and Sales Arvind Saxena observed. ''A host of negative factors have created a situation in the market where the industry is certainly going to face a slow down in demand should the situation continue for long,'' he said.
Segment-wise, the cumulative sales in the month of July for HMIL were - A2 Segment (Santro. I10, Getz Prime) 30,614 units; A3 Segment (Accent, Verna) 5,504 units; A4 Segment (Elantra) 1 units; A5 Segment ( Sonata Embera) 28 units; and SUV Segment (Tucson) 5 units, the release said.
