Haryana Bijli Nigam to open customer care centres
Chandigarh, Aug 1 (UNI) In order to provide better services to electricity consumers, the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam has planned to set up ten new customer care centres at district headquarters at a cost of Rs four crore during the current financial year.
A spokesman said here today the facility of payment of energy bills, registration of consumer complaints relating to power supply, correction of inaccurate bills, acceptance of files form the applicants for release of new connections, reconnections would be provided under one roof. The Nigam would ensure that energy savers of reputed companies are also made available at these centres for which the companies will be authorized to set up their sale counters.
He said the Nigam has also planned to provide the facility of a toll free telephone at these centres for registration of consumer grievances regarding power supply. The arrangement to contact the toll free number through all mobile and landline telephones is being worked out. The record of each complaint, fault and periodicity of redressal would be computerised.
It has also been planned to generate electricity bills of bulk supply, HT and LT industrial consumers at these centres for the convenience of consumers as well as the Nigam, he added.
