Gang raids politicians house, decamps with jewels and cash
Mysore, Aug 1 (UNI) A five-member gang of dacoits raided the house of a Janata Dal(S) leader in the temple town of Nanjangud in the district and made away with jewellery and cash worth Rs 5.67 lakhs.
Police said that the gang of masked men gained entry into the house last night while the family members were asleep. When they woke up the dacoits threatened the couple with lethal weapons and asked them to part with the valuables.
They forced them to open the almariah took gold ornaments worth Rs six lakh and Rs 67000 cash.
The outlaws were conversing in Hindi and Kannada. The sniffer dog brought by the police for investigation lost scent after some distance. Superintendent of police Ram Subba visited the spot.
