FIR against corrupt CMO, steno arrested

Faizabad, Aug 1 (UNI) An FIR was registered against Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Vinod Kumar over corruption charges here today.

Giving information, Police Superintendent (city) Gopesh Nath Khanna said the accused medico was still absconding, while his steno Rajesh Mishra has been arrested for being hand-in-glove with him in the crime.

The vigilance team caught Rajesh while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 6,500.

The team swung into action on the complaint of one junior medico Dr A K Pandey. As per the allegations, the CMO demanded Rs 1,300 for each annual confidential report.
