Consortium to provide capital assistance to farmers

Chandigarh, Aug 1 (UNI) The Haryana Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium will provide Venture Capital Assistance to farmers, producer groups, partnership/propriety firms, self help groups, companies, agripreneurs, units in agri-export zones and agriculture graduates for setting up their ventures in the state.

While disclosing this here today, a spokesman of the Consortium said that project proposals had been invited from those interested in this venture. The assistance would be given for agricultural, horticultural and allied farm produce aimed at increasing farm incomes and should be acceptable by the bank for grant of project term loans.

He said that the maximum limit for venture capital assistance would be 10 per cent of the total project cost assessed by the bank or 26 per cent of the project equity or Rs 75 lakh which-so-ever is less.

The project proposal should be forwarded through the concerned bank in the office of Managing Director, Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium on or before August 25.
