Cabinet meeting put off to August 6
Puducherry, Aug 1 (UNI) The Puducherry cabinet meeting scheduled to be held tomorrow has been postponed to August 6.
According to official sources, this was to enable the five ministers, who were in New Delhi, to take part in the meeting. It may be recalled that following the 'tussle' between Chief Minister N Rangasamy and five ministers, the latter had rushed to New Delhi a few days back. They were camping in the capital after a meeting with AICC president Sonia Gandhi to effect a leadership change in Puducherry.
The ministers had announced yesterday that they would boycott the cabinet meeting.
Meanwhile, the ministers will be reaching Puducherry this evening from the national capital. However, it was doubtful whether they would take part in the cabinet meeting on August 6. In the wake of the apprisal of the ministers, the Congress High Command had reportedly invited Chief Minister N Rangasamy to New Delhi on August 5, after celebrating his birthday on August 4, for discussions.
