2 cases of murder and robbery in 24 hrs

Mumbai, Aug 1 (UNI) Two cases of murder and robbery were registered by the city police in the last 24 hours in the Metropolis.

According to police, in the first case, one Anil Bhagchand Vaswani(49) was allegedly murdered by Eknath at his residence in Versova, Andheri yesterday. Eknath had also allegedly stolen valuables worth Rs 57,000.

Anil was rushed to hospital, when his daughter found him lying in a pool of blood after she came back home. However, he succumbed to injuries during treatment, police said today.

In another incident unidentified persons allegedly murdered a 70-year-old goldsmith Mulchand Nanalal Kothari and robbed jewellery worth Rs 33 lakh from his residence at Kurla in eastern suburbs yesterday.
