World breastfeeding week from tommorow

Shillong, Jul 31 (UNI) The Food and Nutrition Board of the ministry of Women and Child Development,will celebrate the world breastfeeding week here from August one along with the rest of the country. According to official sources here today, the theme of this year's celebration is ''Mother Support: Going for the Gold''.

The main objectives of the event are to increase awareness of the need for and providing support to a breastfeeding mother, disseminate updated information and launch public action.

The inaugural function will be held at Mawphlang tomorrow which will be followed by various programmes.
