Third Front not projecting Mayawati as PM: Bardan
Kochi, Jul 31 (UNI) Communist Party of India (CPI) General Secretary A B Bardan today said the 'Third Front' has not projected BSP leader Mayawati or any other person as its Prime Ministerial candidate for the next general elections.
Talking to newspersons on his arrival at the Nedumbaserry International Airport near here, Mr Bardan said the Left parties did not project any leader for that post prior to elections.
However, if any constitutent party of the 'Third Front' was projecting its leader as as its Prime Ministerial candidate, there was nothing wrong with it he added.
''Mayawati is the leader of the BSP and the BSP might have projected her as its Prime Ministerial candidate. There is nothing wrong with that.'' The BJP had also projected Mr L K Advani as its Prime Ministerial candidate, he noted.
Mr Bardan said the formation of the 'Third Front' was progressing well with ten parties coming together as its constituents.
The front would fight the general elections on the issues of price rise, agricultural crisis and communal conflicts, he added.
