Shahbaz asks PPP to restore judges under Muree Declaration
Lahore, July 31 : Pakistan Punjab province Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday asked the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) to fulfil its promise made in the Murree Declaration and restore the deposed judges.
During his meeting with PPP leader Raza Rabbani and Senior Sindh Minister Pir Mazharul Haq here at Chief Minister House, Shahbaz said the deposed judges should have been restored after the mandate of February 18 but the matter has clearly been shelved.
"We still want to resolve the issues amicably since no problem could be solved without independent judiciary," he said.
Raza Rabbani said the PPP has never backed out on the issue of judges restoration and the impeachment of the president. The reservations on the modus operandi will be removed in the meetings of the parties' leadership.
