Lovers consume poison to end lives

Ludhiana, Jul 31 (UNI) A 28-year old youth alongwith his beloved allegedly committed suicide by consuming a pesticide in Jhande village last night, police sources today stated.

According to the police, the two went to the fields and consumed the pesticide and then informed a villager who rushed to a hospital here. While the girl, identified as Anita (22) died late last night, the youth died this morning.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the two, took the extreme step after their parents did not permit their marriage.

The police after completing all the legal formalities handed over the dead bodies to the next of kin of the deceased.
