Economically Backward Classes Commission gets i yr extension
New Delhi, July 31 (UNI) The Government today extended the tenure of the Commission for Economically Backward Classes by one year.
The tenure was to end today.
''The welfare measures recommended by the Commission will benefit economically backward sections of society by giving them adequate representation in services,'' Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told reporters after the Cabinet meeting that took the decision.
The Government will work out the modalities to implement the measures not covered by the existing reservation policy.
