Additional terms of reference of the 13th Finance Commission
New Delhi, July 31 (UNI) The Union Cabinet today gave it approval for expanding the terms of reference of the 13th Finance Commission to include reviewing the roadmap for fiscal adjustment.
The insertion in the Terms of Reference of the Commission says the Commission may suggest a suitable roadmap with a view to maintaining the gains of consolidation through 2010 to 2015.
Briefing newspersons on the outcome of the Cabinet decisions, Minister for Information and Braodcasting Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi said the need was to bring the liabilities of the Central government on accout of oil, food and ferilisers bonds into fiscal accounting.
The Commission could also consider the impact of various other obligations of the Central government on the deficit targets.
