Insurance employees union opposes increase in FDI

Shimla, Jul 30 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh unit of Northern Zone Insurance Employees Association today opposed the Centre's move to increase Foreign Direct Investment in insurance, banking and pension sectors.

The Association's divisional secretary, Mr Devi Dass said that with the increase in FDI, savings of people would go under the control of international finance capital instead of serving the national infrasturcture needs.

He said that All India Insurance Employees Association would lead a campaign to oppose the increase in FDI in these sectors.
