Houses of several JeI leaders raided in Kashmir
Srinagar, Jul 30 (UNI) Security forces raided the houses of several leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) in the Kashmir valley during the past 24 hours, official sources said today.
They said house of JeI chief Sheikh Mohammad Hassan was raided by security forces at Tarigam, Kulgam in the south Kashmir.
However, they could not find anything objectionable in the house, sources said adding later security forces directed his son to attend nearby camp.
A JeI spokesman said troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR) from Warpora raided the house of Mr Hassan again and ransacked the entire house.
He said security forces also raided the house of Pulwama District JeI president Mohammad Sultan. Yesterday security forces also raided the district office of JeI at Anantnag and asked irrelevent question to Abdul Rauf and others, spokesman said.
He condemned the raids on the houses of JeI leaders and office.
He said JeI was doing its activities openly, peacefully and democratically. We will not be cowed down by such supressive measures, he said adding that JeI will continue its activities.
