Four held for cheating in Manmad

Nashik, Jul 30 (UNI) Four people were arrested on charges of cheating on the pretext of doubling money from Manmad town of the district.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Manmad police raided Bhagyashree lodge near the town's railway station yesterday and arrested Ravindra Reddy 32, resident of Vinayaknagar, Tirupati, in Andhra Pradesh), Babulal Kumavat (resident of Zorwada, Jaipur, Rajasthan but presently living at Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh), M Srinivasul Kristappa (resident of Anantpur, Gandhinagar, Andhra Pradesh) and Laxminarayan Kalappa (resident of Vinayaknagar, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh). They used to cheat people under the pretext of doubling money, sources said today.

The police team seized 163 notes of Rs 100 denomination from them. Besides this, a handbag, mobile phones and a car total worth Rs 3,49,025 were impounded from them. A case has been registered under sections 420, 511 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code against them and further investigations were on, the sources added.
