Pakistanis stage protest against price hike

Karachi, July 28th 2008 : Hundreds of Pakistanis staged a protest in Karachi on Sunday against soaring prices. Like other developing countries, Pakistan has also been badly hit by surging commodity and petroleum prices.

The protesters demanded relief while blaming the government officials leading luxurious lives. The World Food Programme has estimated that almost half of Pakistan was at risk of inadequate nutrition because of high prices and shortages.
