UT stresses upon phasing out of diesel-petrol autos
Chandigarh, July 29 (UNI) The Chandigarh Administration, in yet another initiative to keep a check on pollution in the smoke-free 'City Beautiful' has decided to phase out diesel and Petrol run auto Rickshaws from the city by August 31, 2009.
The Administration has informed all the diesel/Petrol run Auto Rickshaw operators that there would be no renewal of permit beyond August 31, 2009.
All interested Auto Rickshaws (Passenger Carrier) operators can apply to the Secretary, State Transport Authority for the replacement of their diesel/petrol run Auto Rickshaws with LPG run Auto Rickshaw.
