Tarzan fame actor assaulted by friend

Mumbai, Jul 29 (UNI) Bollywood actor Hemant Birje was allegedly assaulted by his friend Arjun Arya alias Ali Khan (27) at Oshiwara in western suburbs of the city late last night.

The Oshiwara police said Birje, who had acted in the title role in 'Tarzan', and the accused Arya were close friends.

About a month back, they had a quarrel over a petty issue and Birje had abused him.

In a fit of rage, Arya attacked Birje with a knife, resulting in minor injuries, police said.

Police has registered a case of attempt to murder and further investigation is in progress.
