Security beefed up in Visakhapatnam Port
Visakhapatnam, Jul 29 (UNI) The Visakhapatnam Port has beefed-up its maritime security level and several preventive measures have been taken to contain any untoward incident.
According to port release here today, in view of the recent escalation in terrorist activities in the country, a decision was taken in the security committee meeting that precautionary measures had to be taken to safeguard vulnarable points and areas in the Port against any terrorist act.
Vishakhapatnam Port Trust Chairman K R Kishore and District Collector Sanjay Kumar reviewed the security in the port along with the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, higher police officials, the state intelligence, fisheries, other custom officials.
